Sustainable infrastructure to solve gridlocks, traffic issues / problems in High Wycombe
According to the Handbook produced by Bucks Strategic Partnership, the County has a high carbon footprint; additionally the vehicular traffic through High Wycombe is notoriously congested.
Here we present few effective solutions that we can think of to ease the traffic:
An obvious solution would be to develop a couple of bypass roads around the town to divert the passing traffic away from the town centre.
One may argue that would have direct adverse effect on the surrounding woodland and natural environment, but frankly speaking the mounting tailpipe
emissions from the crawling vehicles are already damaging the environment enough, and if the congestion is not reduced that is only going to get worse in near future.
Perhaps a grater objection might be the fact that without building some spaghetti junctions it won't be easily possible to efficiently connect the bypass roads,
and of course building spaghetti junctions would unquestionably spoil the natural environment and its landscape.
If the public transport network could manage medium distance travel
more effectively and at reduced costs there would be much fewer commuters who drive cars to work.
However some might argue that a point to point style travel that cars can already offer us is a necessary luxury. So we just love to sit in the car at home,
drive to work, and walk out to the office. That is a convenience that is too hard to give up.
That may be the case right now but perhaps not for too long, because there are some ingenious inventions that could address that problem and offer a near point to point travel
by the means of public transport.

For example the above vehicle may look like a lorry but it is effectively a Dual-mode vehicle called Blade Runner that is a train or bus, and like a chameleon it can transform itself to perform either role as required.
If used efficiently it can move people around at commuting distances like between High Wycombe and London.
As a bus it can pick us up at the bus stop nearest to our departure, commute as train, and finally drop us at the bus stop nearest to our destination.
That is for the lucky lot while the others will still have to use some additional means of public transport.

Or consider this concept called ROUTEMASTER 2010 where the standard double decker London bus evolves into truly megalithic proportions.
School runs equals nightmare! Yes we all know what kind of effect they have in High Wycombe to the local traffic.
And who doesn’t, well during the school holidays the local traffic is effectively halved back to its acceptable level. How to solve the congestion problem?
Perhaps by looking elsewhere for solutions, for example at the Italian hilly town of Perugia that built a smart MiniMetro system to ease the local traffic.

The MiniMetro's tracks and pillars may not be the most lightweight in appearance, but the system is highly efficient and easy to use.
On the other hand the following design is rather elegant and lightweight, and would perfectly complement Chiltrens and surroundings alike.
In fact running such line on top of Wycombe Rye would be a nice scene and certainly a most enjoyable ride for the passengers.
